On August 11, 2020, at 6 p.m., a round table took place in the open air, in front of Bălți City Hall, dedicated to the issue of transparency of public authorities, namely “Bălţi Mayoralty, the most transparent city hall. Is it an example for the local public administrations in Sangerei district? ”.
The event was organized by AO “Association for Human Rights LEX 21” together with the Nord-News news portal. We managed to attract not only the citizens of Balti, but also the citizens of Singerei district. In order to understand the full picture, it is necessary to consider the subject from all points of view, so the organizers invited both representatives of civil society and representatives of the Balti LPA. Participants discussed the theoretical aspects of the transparency of public authorities’ activities, as well as the practical aspects of access to information and the problems that citizens face in trying to obtain the data they are interested in. This was the first experience in such a format. we hope that in the future we will be able to develop this initiative, which will improve the work of public authorities and will have a positive impact on the lives of ordinary people. The round table took place within the project “Mobilization for monitoring” implemented by the “Association for Human Rights LEX 21”, funded by the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation under the grant program “Development of local civil society in the Republic of Moldova”.
